ALEX DINE

This Saturday, I went gallery hopping with a group of co-workers in the Chelsea area here in NY. The very first gallery we went to was J. Cacciola gallery, which displayed one of my favorite contemporary artists, Alex Kanevsky. If you live here in NY, it is a must see. I found myself immersed with his brush work. I couldn't really decipher how he got some of his paint to look completely flat in some areas. I tried borrowing 15k from my friends to buy a painting, but that didn't work.(that was a joke by the way). Anyways, check out his stuff. That show gets my highest regards.

After that we went to Jim Dines wooden sculpture show right across the street. It consisted of six foot wooden sculpture of Pinocchio in various poses and subjects. I was pretty awe struck. One of my favorites had to be the one with the two black figures surrounding Pinocchio. I did snap some pics with my crappy phone. I'll try to upload some pictures.

We saw a bunch of other gallery shows, but these two stood out.
